Outlines - Posies

Good Monday morning!  Hope you enjoyed your weekend!  Today's challenge for the Outlines design team is Pick a Posy.  We are to use at least one of the flowers from the Posy Mix and Match series, which is pretty extensive!  I used the Round Posy Sm (E-1040)and Round Posy Md (E-1039) images, which I colored with Copic markers and then painted over the center and edges with some Smooch Top Coat.  I molded the petals and adhered the posies using silicone glue to give them some height.

The background stamp I used is called Izzy Background (J-988) and it matched my Kaisercraft Lilac Avenue paper and scalloped border strip perfectly!  I stamped it using Adirondack Eggplant ink and then painted over it with the Smooch Top Coat, too.  I added the Busy Bee Sm. image (A-83) in the upper right corner, also using the silicone glue.  Finally, I added some Swarovski Crystals (size 12), using Glossy Accents and Picksey Pick Ups - they make it SO easy to add the crystals!  If you haven't tried them, you should check them out.

Please be sure to check out the Posy cards the rest of the design team made:

RI Sketch Challenge - Love

Happy Wednesday to you!  It’s WHAT IF? Wednesday again and time for a new sketch challenge!   For my card I used the Love Stencil image (1222-G).  I stamped the heart portion of the stamp first using a SU marker, then I stamped the 'LOVE' portion of the stamp on top of it (it's below the heart on the actual stamp) using Versamark and gold embossing powder.  I painted the edges of my Inchie Plus square with Sargent Liquid Metal gold paint.

The patterned paper strips are from Scenic Route and the pink panels are Coredinations card stock that I embossed using the Swiss Dots embossing folder and then sanded to reveal the lighter pink core.  I added some heart shaped rhinestones in the corners and called it done!  A nice, quick Valentine's Day card!

We'd love for you to play along with us!  All you have to do is create a card using this layout and post it over on The House That Stamps Built by February 5th.  The details and the sketch are over there on today's post, along with the sample cards the rest of the team made - be sure to check it out!

Hope your week is going well!  I'm gearing up to head out to CHA - let me know if any of you will be there!

Thanks for stopping by!  Enjoy the rest of your week!

RI SOTW - Feline Friendly

Good morning, this is my second post for today, please scroll down one for my weekly Outlines post!

This week's stamp of the week for Repeat Impressions is this adorable Feline Friendly (1602-P) image.  I have paired it up with some Webster's Pages paper, a trio of paper flowers and the Animals Are sentiment(8123-G), also from Repeat Impressions, which seemed a good match for this image!

Please be sure to visit The House That Stamps Built for the details on getting this wonderful image for 50% off this week only, and while you're there, please check out the great cards the rest of the design team has created with Feline Friendly!

Outlines - Squares

Good Monday morning! Hope you had a nice weekend! I made 5 cards, so it was a good weekend for me!

Who's ready for Spring??  I am, as you can tell from this card!  This week's Outlines' design team challenge is squares. For my card, I used the Flower Square Large (E-522) for my focal image. I also used the Script Thank You (B-1054) image, cut using a square Nestabilites die, and the Flower Strip (E-553) image for the border on the right edge.
Here is a closeup of the main image to show the layers.  I stamped the image four times and used one for the base layer, then I cut out the inner square with the flower image and inner border for the second layer.  The third layer is just the center square with the flowers and the fourth layer is the flowers and leaves.  All the layers are popped up on foam tape.
I added some Swarovski Crystals and Gold Viva Decor Pearl Paint Pen to the outer border of the image and I added Swarovski Crystals to the centers of the flowers and painted all the leaves with Smooch Top Coat.   If you click on this final image to see a larger version, you can see all the shine!  All of the flowers were colored using Copic markers.  The background patterned paper is from Making Memories Flower Patch collection.  My card measures 5.5" square.

Please be sure to check out the 'square' cards the rest of the design team made:

Happy Birthday Ship

Happy Friday! This is a birthday card I made for Tim's brother, whose birthday was last Friday.   He's a nautical guy, so these two Flourishes sets (A Guiding Light and Antique Map) fit the bill perfectly.  My layout is from this month's Sketch for you to Try

I stamped the Antique Map image for the background panel on the front, and on the inside.  The compass rose paper is from Graphic 45.  My sailor's knot was tied based on Barbara Anders' tutorial.  The sentiment is from Flourishes' Tag Lines set, and I added a trio of black rhinestones below it.  Not too bad for a masculine card, eh?

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great weekend!

Belli Challenge #109 - 'P' and RI CASE Challenge - Joy

Today is Belli Challenge day and Repeat Impressions' Case challenge day, so once again I have combined both challenges into one card.  The Belli Challenge for this week is to make a card using anything that starts with the letter 'P' - patterned paper, pussycats and gold pearl paint pens being the 'P's that I used!  You could also say I used persimmon and pistachio for two of my colors...or not... ;-)

This week we at Repeat Impressions are CASE-ing (copy and share everything) a card made by fellow design team member Joy Hadden.  I used the same layout as Joy's card, but changed up just about everything else except having striped paper for my background panel.  The image is Repeat Impressions' Forty Winks (2606-J), the papers are from BasicGrey's Max and Whiskers collection and the cat-themed brads are from Around the Block.  I matted the center layer with a scalloped edge and then used a gold Viva Decor pearl paint pen to make the dots in the center of each scallop.   This card also works for this week's My Time to Craft challenge, which is Spots and Dots.

I would love for you to play along with the Belli Challenge and make a project using something that starts with 'P'!  Please head over to the Belli Challenge blog to see the great cards the rest of the design team has made and to get the details for submitting an entry.

I would also love for you to play along on the Repeat Impressions' CASE challenge by making a project based on Joy's sample card.  Please head over to The House That Stamps Built to see Joy's card, as well as the rest of the design team's cards, and to find out how to participate.

Outlines - Hearts

This week's Outlines' design team challenge is to create something using hearts.  For my card, I used this new Hanging Hearts (H-1006) image and embossed it using white embossing powder on red metallic paper.  It's very striking, but it's difficult to keep the stray bits of embossing powder off the metallic paper!   I added some Clear Swarovski Crystals (size 12) to my image.  My sentiment is Script Love You (B-1055), which I embossed using red glitter embossing powder and then airbrushed.

I added a white sheer ribbon bow at the top, and in keeping with the heart theme, I snipped a couple of hearts from some May Arts pale pink heart ribbon and added them to the two right corners.  Please be sure you stop by the rest of the design team members' blogs to see the wonderful heart creations they have for you today:

RI Sketch Challenge - Lily of the Valley

Hello!  It's time for another Repeat Impressions' sketch challenge!  For my card, I used this Lily of the Valley (4308-J) image that I paired with a sentiment from the Quartet Complements (8607-D) collection and the Tiny Bird (2617-D) image, which I popped up on foam tape.  The Italian paper from Monday's Stamp of the Week card was still out on my craft table, so I used it again for my background paper - LOVE it!

We hope you will play along with us!  Please checkout The House That Stamps Built for all the details of the challenge!  While you're there, make sure you take a look at the wonderful inspiration from the rest of the design team!

RI SOTW - Morning Glories

This is my second post for today - please scroll down to my earlier post for my weekly Outlines card!

Today it is time for a Repeat Impressions Stamp of the Week card!  This week's featured image is this pretty Morning Glories (2629-G) image.  I have paired it with this wonderful Italian paper.  The sentiment is from the Quartet Complements collection.  My image was colored using Copic markers and both the flower panel and the sentiment were airbrushed.  The sketch I used is from My Favorite Things' first sketch challenge (MFTWSC1).

Please be sure to check out the details for getting this versatile Morning Glories image for 50% over on The House that Stamps Built.  And while you are there, please take a look at the wonderful cards the rest of the design team has created.

On a personal note, I just wanted to mention that this past Saturday we had to put our first fur baby to sleep.  Jet was with us for over 18 years, so it has been a very difficult time for us.  She lived with Chronic Renal Failure for years.  This is a picture of her from last week.  She was never a large cat - at her highest weight she was just 11 pounds, but on Saturday she was down to 6 1/2 pounds.  You can see how skinny she was.

For the last few months, she had been deteriorating and one of our other cats, Saba, has been her regular snuggle buddy.  Saba seemed to sense something was going on and spent quite a bit of time cuddling with Jet.  Don't you just wonder what goes on in their little heads?  So sweet.
Anyway, I just wanted to provide an update to those of you who were aware that this day was coming.  To those of you who already know and have emailed me - thank you for your well wishes - it's been tough!

Outlines - Love!

Good morning!  It's Monday, which means it's time for an Outlines card!  This week's theme is Valentine's Day and we are showcasing Viva Decor Pearl Paint Pens.  My card uses the Sparkle Love (H-911) image.  I colored it using Copic markers for the red and green portions and Gold Liquid Metallic paint.

For all of the circle accents, I used the Viva Decor Pearl Paint Pens in Red and Gold.  These pens are really fun to work with - they create a wonderful dimensional dot accent. It's easy to control the size of the dot with the precision point on the pen.

The patterned paper is Making Memories Glitter Love Notes and the ribbon is white satin.  The background  of the main panel was airbrushed with a Copic marker.

Please be sure to check out the rest of the design team's Valentine's Day creations using Viva Decor Pearl Paint Pens:

Belli Challenge #108 - Snow and RI CASE Challenge - Lynette

Greetings!  Today I am posting another dual challenge card! This week's Belli challenge is Snow and this week's Repeat Impressions Case challenge is to case a card from fellow design team member Lynette Neus.  The details for playing along on the Belli challenge can be found on today's post and for the Repeat Impressions challenge, you can find Lynette's card and the challenge details at The House That Stamps Built.

For my card, I used the Holiday Lamp Post (2002-J) image, combined with the Let It Snow (2006-H) sentiment. The lamp post was colored with Copic markers and then I added some Martha Stewart Snow Glitter and some Polar White Flower Soft.  The patterned papers are from BasicGrey's Wassail 6x6 pad and the ribbon is from their Mellow collection.

For the sentiment panel I created the 'icicles' by adding a strip of white card stock that I had cut using my Martha Stewart grass border punch, which I adhered upside down, dabbed with Glossy Accents and then covered with the Snow Glitter.  Both panels were airbrushed and I added a couple of rhinestone snowflakes to cover the brad holes on my sentiment tag.

Hope you'll play along on both challenges!  Thanks for stopping by!

Outlines Thanks!

Good Monday morning!  Today marks the first post for Outlines' design team.  The image I've used is called Sparkle Thanks (H-905).  I stamped it on glossy black paper using Versamark and embossed with white embossing powder.  I glitzed it up by adding Ocean Soul Smooch, Gold Pearl Paint Pen, AB Crystal Swarovski Crystal size 7 and Lt. Colorado Topaz Swarovski Crystals Size 12.  The patterned paper is from my stash, as are the rest of the embellishments.  I used Copic markers to color one of the flowers and the twine to match the teal ribbon.

Please be sure to check out the wonderful cards the rest of the design team has created today:
