MFTWSC61 - One of a Kind

Hello! Today I have a card for this week's sketch challenge over at My Favorite Things (MFTWSC61).   I turned the sketch vertical and used the Pure Innocence Paper Dolls set.

The image was colored using Copic markers and paired with papers from Basic Grey's Blush collection.  For the inside, I used the Framed Greetings Die and Stamp set to create the sentiment panel and then added a sentiment from the More Essential Sentiments set.  I popped the sentiment up on a Spellbinders' Labels Eighteen panel.

RI Sketch Challenge - Thanks So Much Tulips

Hello!  We have a new sketch challenge starting today over at The House That Stamps Built.  For my sample card, I used Tulip Bouquet (912-K), paired with the Thanks So Much (8607-D) sentiment from Quartet Complements.  I kicked it old school on this card and used Derwent Inktense watercolor pencils to color the flowers instead of using my trusty Copic markers!  The patterned papers and mat layers are from BasicGrey's Hello Luscious collection.

Please head on over to The House That Stamps Built to see the sketch and get the particulars for playing along with the challenge.  While you're there, please be sure you check out the pretty sample cards the rest of the team has made using the sketch!

RI DCC Challenge - Animals

We have a new Designer's Choice Challenge starting up over at The House That Stamps Built today and yours truly is your hostess!  The theme for this challenge is animals, one of my favorite subjects!  For my sample card, I have used Mister Goof (6205-M), one of  Repeat Impressions' great cat images, and I have colored it using my cat Saba for my inspiration.  The layout is from this week's sketch over at The Paper Players blog (PP65).

Here is a picture of her sitting on her very own coffee table book!  The sentiment I paired the image up with is from the Quartet Complements series and fits her perfectly - she is special!  Finally, I added a little black kitty button to my bow.

Please stop by The House That Stamps Built to check out the details for playing along with us for your chance to win some stamps from Repeat Impressions and to see the wonderful cards the rest of the team has made!

Stamp of the Week - Lady's Slipper

It's time for another Stamp of the Week over at Repeat Impressions.  This week's stamp is Ladyslipper (2611-J).  I colored the flower using Copic markers and sponged the background using Aqua Mist ink.  The sentiment is Thinking of You (1105-E) and I added Kaisercraft rhinestones on either end of it. The background paper is from BasicGrey's Sultry collection (Vogue).  I used this week's JUGS sketch #96 for my layout.

Please be sure to head over to The House That Stamps Built to get the details for ordering this stamp for half price this week.  While you're there, be sure you check out the cards the rest of the design team has made!

RI SOTW - Birdbath

This week's Stamp of the Week over at Repeat Impressions is Birdbath (4311-I). I have paired it with Wild Violets (1706-I), which I stamped twice and masked before stamping the birdbath, and Tiny Bird (flight) (2617-D), which I stamped three times.  All images were colored using Copic markers and the sky was airbrushed.  The sentiment is Find Beauty (8614-D) from Quartet Complements.  The papers are from BasicGrey's Kioshi 6x6 pad.

Please 'fly' over to The House That Stamps Built to get the details for purchasing the Birdbath image for 50% off and to see the other design team members' cards showcasing this versatile image!

I am also entering this card in this week's A La Card Monkey Nature challenge!

RI CASE Challenge - ME!

There is another CASE (copy and share everything) challenge going on over on the Repeat Impressions blog, and this time the card that is to be CASEd is this one of mine! I originally made this card for a Repeat Impressions sketch challenge last spring, so it's not new, but it's still one of my favorites.

Since I was away at CHA last weekend, I didn't have time to make a card for the challenge, but the rest of the RI design team did and you should definitely head over to The House That Stamps Built to see their great cards!  They did a wonderful job with it!

The challenge is open until Tuesday, February 15th at 5:00 PM EST if you would like to play along for a chance to win your choice of an unmounted sheet of stamps.

While I was at CHA (the Craft and Hobby Association trade show), I had a chance to meet up with my fellow Repeat Impressions Design Team member, Lynette Neus.  Hope you made it home safe and sound, Lynette!

Belli Challenge #109 - 'P' and RI CASE Challenge - Joy

Today is Belli Challenge day and Repeat Impressions' Case challenge day, so once again I have combined both challenges into one card.  The Belli Challenge for this week is to make a card using anything that starts with the letter 'P' - patterned paper, pussycats and gold pearl paint pens being the 'P's that I used!  You could also say I used persimmon and pistachio for two of my colors...or not... ;-)

This week we at Repeat Impressions are CASE-ing (copy and share everything) a card made by fellow design team member Joy Hadden.  I used the same layout as Joy's card, but changed up just about everything else except having striped paper for my background panel.  The image is Repeat Impressions' Forty Winks (2606-J), the papers are from BasicGrey's Max and Whiskers collection and the cat-themed brads are from Around the Block.  I matted the center layer with a scalloped edge and then used a gold Viva Decor pearl paint pen to make the dots in the center of each scallop.   This card also works for this week's My Time to Craft challenge, which is Spots and Dots.

I would love for you to play along with the Belli Challenge and make a project using something that starts with 'P'!  Please head over to the Belli Challenge blog to see the great cards the rest of the design team has made and to get the details for submitting an entry.

I would also love for you to play along on the Repeat Impressions' CASE challenge by making a project based on Joy's sample card.  Please head over to The House That Stamps Built to see Joy's card, as well as the rest of the design team's cards, and to find out how to participate.

This is a quick card I made this week using Outlines Christmas Tree Square (B-329 Tree Square Sm.) image.  I stamped my image on an Inchie Plus square using Versamark and embossed with gold embossing powder.  The image was painted using Twinkling H2Os and added some small crystals for ornaments.

The gold Christmas tree borders are May Arts ribbon and I added a crystal snowflake sticker on top of the button in the center of my bow.  The patterned papers are from BasicGrey's Eskimo Kisses line.

Beginning in January we will all be posting an Outlines card every Monday, so please be sure to come back and visit often!

RI SOTW - Joy

Sorry I've been so quiet here.  I made an unscheduled trip home to my mother's last Tuesday to help her out while her husband was in the hospital after having some surgery.  He was able to come home on Thanksgiving, so that was nice!  Unfortunately, it meant no traditional Thanksgiving feast this year, but we did have a killer chicken tetrazzini casserole that one of her friends had brought by!

OK, on to business - it's time for another Stamp of the Week from Repeat Impressions!  This week's special deal is on this Joy to the World image (2108-H JOY).  I'm afraid I couldn't get my photo focused properly because the felt rose sticks out so far.  The image was stamped with Versamark and embossed with gold embossing powder and then I colored the world with Copic markers.  The gold Christmas tree in the center of the flower is May Arts ribbon and was mounted using a base of silicone glue and then a button to fill in the center of the flower.  The patterned paper is Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses.

Please head over to The House That Stamps Built for the details on getting this great stamp for half price between now and December 5th, and to see the wonderful cards the rest of the design team made!

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great week!

Happy Birthday!

It's a dreary, rainy Monday here in Atlanta, which seems fitting since it's my 50th birthday AND we have a water leak in our house that was running from the first floor into the basement right over the bar in our home theater room.  We had to turn the water to the whole house off last night and we have a plumber coming later this morning.  Ugghhh...not such a happy birthday so far!

On a happier note, this adorable little Pure Innocence girl made her way down to my friend Silke's to wish her a happy birthday last Wednesday!  The patterned papers are from October Afternoon's Thrift Shop collection and BasicGrey's Lemonade 6x6 pad.  Her dress and the present are paper pieced and in Silke's honor, I added a couple of silver pearls for the buttons on her dress.

For the inside, I used some more of the Thrift Shop papers and a sentiment from Papertrey Ink's Birthday Basics set.  The buttons on the inside were made using a button die from My Favorite Things and were attached to a scrap of the gingham ribbon and tied with some twine.

That's about it.  Hope your week is getting off to a better start than mine!  Be sure to come back on Wednesday for another Belli Challenge!

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Flippin' Birthday!!

It's time for another Creative Belli Challenge and this week's challenge is to use an old stamp.  I used a Repeat Impressions set of stamps (7207-W, Cake FLIP Set) that I have had for a few years to make this Flip birthday card that I made for my niece's birthday.  These flip cards (also known as waterfall cards) are fun to make and receive.  I paired my birthday cake series with some BasicGrey ice cream and cupcake paper.

The cake images were all colored with Copic markers to match the colors in the patterned paper.
When I got to the stamps that had candles and decorations, out came the Stickles!

The last cake image is nice and sparkly.
For the final stamp in the set, the sentiment, I stamped with Versamark and embossed with some Powder Keg embossing powder.

For the inside of the card, I used a couple of stamps from Papertrey Ink's Birthday Basics set.  If you're interested in making a flip card, please check out the Repeat Impressions site - Wendy offers instructions and all the supplies you need to make your own!

Would you like to play along with us on this week's Creative Belli challenge?  Just head on over to the Creative Belli Challenge blog to see what the other Design Team members have created for the challenge, and then pull out your old stamps and make a card!  Be sure to link your project to today's post to play along!

CTD107 - Gladiolus

Good Monday morning!  Hope you had a nice weekend!  I didn't get nearly enough time in my stamp room, but I did have a chance to play with some new Papertrey Ink stamps that were waiting for me when I got home from being on the road last week..

I made this card for this week's Color Throwdown #107, which is to use Pretty in Pink, Rose Red, So Saffron and Pear Pizazz.  I finally pulled out one of my Impressibilities embossing dies and tried my hand at the Letterpress technique, using PTI's Spring Moss ink, for my background layer.  My focal image is from Papertrey Ink's Gladiolus set and was colored using Copic markers.  The sentiment on the tag is from PTI's Mixed Messages set.  My patterned papers are from BasicGrey's Lemonade collection and the scalloped border die is from My Favorite Things.

I used the leftover strips from my border cut on the front and the main pieces from my die cut on the inside.  The green and ivory gingham ribbon is from Flourishes.

Well, tomorrow is the big day - Tim is scheduled to have his Cubital Tunnel Syndrome surgery in the morning.  We are both a bit anxious about it, but hoping for the best and a speedy recovery.  Wish us luck....

RI SOTW - Forty Winks

It's time for another Repeat Impressions Stamp of the Week!  This week we are featuring this adorable, sleepy kitty, appropriately called Forty Winks (#2606).  I've paired it with another Repeat Impressions stamp, #6103 - Thinking of You.  My patterned papers are from BasicGrey's Max and Whiskers collection and I added a little ribbon, a kitty button and some pewter nail head stickers to the scalloped ends of my mat layer.  The kitty was colored with Copic markers and the background was airbrushed.

This stamp is available for 50% off this week, but you need to head over to The House That Stamps Built to get the details on how to order it to receive the discount.  While you're there, be sure to check out the other wonderful cards that the design team made using this sweet stamp!

Hope your birthday is Purr-fect!

Happy Friday!  I am pleased to announce that my fellow Belli Challenge team member, Shelly Schmidt, invited me to be a guest designer this month for FireCracker Designs by Pamela.  I will be posting a card using one of their digital images every Friday in August, so be sure to check in each week!

For my first card, I am using the Bella Kitty image.  I colored it using Copic markers and added some sparkle on the kitty's eyes and the blanket using Spica markers.  It paired nicely with this paper from BasicGrey's Max and Whiskers collection, a little kitty button and some twine - what kitty wouldn't be interested in a little twine?? ;-)  The twine is layered on top of some tan ruffled ribbon.  As always, you can click on the photo to see a larger image.

Thanks for stopping by!   Have a great weekend!

RI SOTW - Great Blue Heron

Hi, all!  It's time for another Stamp of the Week from Repeat Impressions.  This week's stamp is this Great Blue Heron (#1704).  What majestic creatures these are!  I think it would be perfect for any kind of masculine card or sympathy card, as well as for Thinking of You (also from Repeat Impressions).

I colored and airbrushed the main image panel using Copic markers, then paired it with some papers from BasicGrey's Marrakech collection.  The left side of the orange panel was embossed with a Cuttlebug embossing folder and I added some pearls to the embossed swirls and the top of the main panel.  Pretty clean and simple for me!

Be sure to stop by The House That Stamps Built to find out how you can get this stamp for 50% off and to see what the rest of the design team made using this stamp!

What If Wednesday Sketch Challenge

It's time for another What If Wednesday sketch challenge from Repeat Impressions!  Submissions to this J3010 Sketch Challenge will be accepted until 5:00 p.m. EST on July 13th. All participants are automatically entered into a random drawing for a $25 gift certificate to Repeat Impressions, so what have you got to lose?

There is a very nice fellow who works for one of my long time clients and he is retiring this week, so I made this retirement card using the sketch and this adorable kitty from Repeat Impressions (Forty Winks # 2606). I don't know this gentleman very well from a personal standpoint, but I do know that he is a fellow cat lover, so this image seemed appropriate.

I paired the image with BasicGrey's Max and Whiskers papers, some kitty-themed twill and a brad from Around the Block that says Cat Nap in the upper left corner.  The sentiment is from Repeat Impressions' Quartet Complements line.

For the inside of the card and the envelope liner, I used some more of the Max and Whiskers paper.  The sentiment is from Stampabilities.

Please play along with us and create a card using this week's sketch!  If you have Repeat Impressions stamps, we'd love for you to use them, but it's not required.  Leave a link to your project over on today's post at The House That Stamps Built, and while you're there, be sure to check out what the rest of the design team has done using the sketch.

Stamp of the Week - Crowned Crane Deco

Good Monday morning!  Happy Memorial Day to those of you in the US!  It's time for another Repeat Impressions Stamp of the Week!  This week's stamp, which is available for 50% off through June 6th, over on the Repeat Impressions blog, The House That Stamps Built, is the Crowned Crane Deco stamp.  Head over to the blog to see what the rest of the design team has created with this stamp!

I stamped the image using Spring Moss ink, cut it out and matted it with a Nestabilites Labels Ten mat layer.  all of the patterned papers are from BasicGrey's LilyKate collection.  I added some pale green pearls to the ends of the mat and then added a crocheted flower on top of the Spring Moss satin ribbon.   I figure this card will be good for a sympathy card, or birthday or thinking of you card, so I will wait to add a sentiment when the time comes to send it out.

Be sure to remember our fallen soldiers today - their sacrifices ensure our freedom, for which we are so very grateful.  Thanks for stopping by and Happy Memorial Day!

Playful Puppy Sketch Challenge Card (M1910)

Happy Wednesday! Hope your week is going well!  It's time for another sketch challenge over at Repeat Impressions.  Here's the sketch that Wendy created for this week's challenge:

For my card, I used the Playtime Puppy (4301-K) stamp and one of the sentiments from the Quartet Complements set.  I'm sure they look like an odd combination of stamps, but a good friend recently lost her dog and this was the sympathy card I sent to her.

I used BasicGrey's Max and Whiskers papers and a kraft card base.  For the three elements in the bottom right corner of the sketch, I added a sticker strip of paw prints.  Please check out what the rest of the design team has done with the sketch and be sure to play along!  We had some great entries in the last sketch challenge and Wendy is offering a very generous prize, so head on over to the Repeat Impressions blog and check out the details!  You have until June 1st to enter to win a $25 gift certificate!
