This week's challenge for the Outlines' Design Team is Sparkle and Shine, and we are featuring
Swarovski Crystals and
Picksey Pick-ups. I used
Skylla Butterfly (C-886) and a bunch of
Swarovski Crystals (Size 7 - clear, lt. Colorado Topaz, and lt. Rose; Size 12 - clear, lt. Colorado Topaz, Sapphire, and Siam; and Size 16 - Clear)! I used
Picksey Pick-ups and
Glossy Accents to adhere the crystals to the butterfly. For the largest crystals, I used a
gold Pearl Pen as my adhesive and dropped the crystal into it. The butterfly was colored using
Pebbles Chalks (Shimmers and Jewel Tones).
Picksey Pick-ups are small discs of beeswax that you wrap around the end of a toothpick and use to pick up the crystals by touching the beeswax tip of the toothpick to the top of the crystal. You can then easily place the crystal atop a drop of glue and the crystal will release onto the adhesive. They are a great, inexpensive tool and I highly recommend them if you haven't tried them!
Swarovski Crystals add sparkle like nothing else! They are such a great addition to a card - here is a close up to try to show the sparkle, but you really have to see them in person to appreciate it.
The backgroun paper is from DCWV's Mariposa 8x8 paper pad and the beautiful blue ribbon is from May Arts.
Please be sure to visit the rest of the design team members' blogs to see the sparkly, shiny cards they have made with Swarovski Crystals!
Bev Gerard -
Savor the Journey (Bev is taking one more week off to be with her family this week. Her mother-in-law passed away recently, so please stop by her blog and give her some love!)
I am entering this card in a new challenge called
A La Card Monkey. This week's challenge is Nature!
Thanks for stopping by!
