Krafty Kat Kit cards

I have mentioned before that I am in a group of local stampers called the Krafty Kats. There are six of us and we get together each month to share our artwork and have a lot of laughs! We have such a good time together!

Each month one of us puts together a kit of papers and embellishments and then the next month we have 'show and tell' to see what everyone made with the supplies from the kit. It's always amazing how different all the cards are.

Today I'm showing three cards I made from a recent kit that Marcy put together. The patterned papers are from Heidi Grace Designs' Harvest Row collection. On the first card, I used the wicker chair image from Lockhart Stamp Company that Marcy had stamped and embossed for us. After I colored the image to match the paper, I drew a border around it while it was still in the square Nestabilities die, leaving space for the sentiment, which is from Amuse Artstamps. The bottom edge of the card front was cut and embossed with a Spellbinders Fancy Scallop Pierceability die.

For the second card, I used a photo stamp from The Stamping Studio. I stamped the pitcher of sunflowers on vellum with Black StazOn and then colored it on the back side using Copic markers. The image was cut out using deckle edged scissors.

I colored the paper flower in the bottom right corner using Copic markers and added the bead for the center to make it look like a sunflower. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink's Mixed Messages set.

This last card includes stamps from Gina K.Designs' Botanical Dreams (the flower) and Papertrey Ink's Mega Mixed Messages (the sentiment). The 'leaves' under the bow/brad/flower combo were made using a Martha Stewart punch and were colored with a Copic Spica marker.

These kits are such fun to play with and it's always so interesting to see how everyone used the supplies included in them.

Hope you've had a good week - mine has been busy and I'm looking forward to the weekend!

Thanks for stopping by!

HOTlanta???

This was the scene here at our house yesterday afternoon. Welcome, March.
It's kind of entertaining to get snow in Atlanta occasionally, but it was icy out this morning, which makes for an interesting rush hour here. Luckily Tim made it to work this morning, safe and sound, but he did pass a vehicle that had flipped over on its roof. Many of the local schools are closed, so it's a bit interesting here in 'HOT'lanta today. We're due for another freeze this evening, so tomorrow's morning commute may be another adventure.

Since we were out of town most of last week, attending to Tim's mother's funeral, I don't have a lot to show. This is a card I made last month for the Spring Flowers Inchie Challenge. There isn't much to it. The geranium stamp is from Lockhart Stamp Company, and the sentiment is from Amuse Artstamps. The little crystals are Taylored Expressions Tiny Twinkles, and I'm afraid I don't know who makes the patterned paper.

Hopefully this cheery Spring card will drive the cold and snow away!

Hope you had a nice weekend! Thanks for looking!

Christmas Wishes

I'm a bit strapped for things to post at the moment since I've been working on Christmas gifts and Christmas cards exclusively for the last couple of weeks and can't post those just yet. I'll have a lot to share after Christmas! I'm happy to say that I am finished with all of it and now just have a few little things to wrap up and put under the tree.

This is a quick card I made a while ago, but never posted. There's not much to it - the Santa was punched from the same paper I used for this card. I cut the two mat layers using my Nestabilities. I tied the satin ribbon around the flourish patterned background paper and added a bow above the circles - it looks a bit like a Christmas ornament, I think.

Thanks for looking and I hope you have a great day!

Home is where the heart is...

This is a really simple little card that came together quickly. The card base is a ready made notecard from Amuse Artstamps. The stamps are from Repeat Impressions. The chair was stamped on some paper from the Basic Grey Oh Baby Girl collection. The layers were cut out and embossed with my Nestabilities.

That's about it....just wanted to post a little somethin', somethin' from the road!

Hope you're having a good week. Mine's been ridiculously busy. And the Olympics are making me stay up way too late at night. Tonight I'm going to head to bed 'early'.
Thanks for coming by!

Happy Day!

Happy Monday! I created this card for the store this weekend using a little more of the paper I used for the last card I posted. I also played with one of my new Lockhart Company inchie stamps. They are fun to color and go fairly quickly due to their small size, so they are good for coloring practice! I colored a white flower border strip with some chalk inks to get it to match the paper better.

One of the other items I was asked to use on a card for the store was the pink Heidi Swapp Chandelier Crystal that is hanging from the flower border with the sentiment attached. The sentiment was cut out with my new Stampin'UP! word punch, as were the border pieces for it. I cut the largest border piece with the punch and then cut a little off the end of the sentiment and the middle border piece to have them graduated.

Thanks for stopping by. Hope you have a happy day!
