RI DCC Challenge - For the Guys

Hello! It's time for another Designer's Choice Challenge over at The House That Stamps Built and this time the challenge is For the Guys - make a masculine card. I used the Bottoms Up (2906-I) image and paired it with the Happy Birthday (8606-E) sentiment from Quartet Complements. The patterned papers are from October Afternoon's Ducks in a Row collection.

For the inside of the card, I computer generated my sentiment (it says Hope it's just ducky!) and paired it with a strip of the adorable ducks from the Just Ducky 8x8 pad. Please stop over to The House That Stamps Built to read the details for playing along with the Designer's Choice Challenge for a chance to win a sheet of unmounted stamps and to see the samples the rest of the design team has made!

Outlines - Beautiful Borders

It's time for a new challenge over at the Outlines blog!  This week's challenge is Beautiful Borders.  I used the Flower Strip image for the border on the right side of my card.  It was colored with Copic markers and I added a little dimension to the flowers by adding some dots of Viva Decor Pearl Pens (Sunny Yellow, Red, Lt. Green).

For the focal panel, I used Pointed Posy Med. (E-1043) and Pointed Posy Sm.(D-1044), Posy Greeting Center (F-1049), Stem (B-385) and Black Dot Vase (C-375).  The Posies were colored using Viva Decor Paper Soft (Dark Sand), as were the edges of the Flower Strip panel, and more Viva Decor Pearl Pens (Copper, Salmon) were used to add dots around the greeting and in the Posy center.

The patterned papers are all from Jillibean Soup's Blossom Soup paper collection.  I used two different border punches on the green and red horizontal layers to add to the Beautiful Borders theme.

Happy Birthday Party Animal!

Today is my niece's 18th birthday!   I made this card for her because she loves all things zebra. The color scheme matches her new school colors at the University of South Carolina where today is her first day of classes.

The stamps are from Papertrey Ink, as is the zebra impression plate I used to emboss the largest background panel.  The patterned paper is from BoBunny's Zoology collection.  The layout is based on this month's Sketch for You to Try.  Have a Happy Birthday, Leigh Ann!

Outlines - Lovely with Lace

Good morning and welcome to a new Outlines challenge!  This week's challenge is 'Lovely with Lace' - any theme goes, just incorporate lace.  For my card I decided to go with a black, tan and creme color scheme, based on the Graphic 45 Curtain Call Collection papers I used.  I stamped Pointed Posy (D1044 Small and E1043 Medium) and Clematis Med (E111) using Versamark on three different patterned papers and embossed with gold and black embossing powders.  I cut the flowers out and layered them using foam tape.  I added size 12 Colorado Topaz Swarovski Crystals to the center of the top flower and to the ends of the sentiment panel.  For my lace element, I layered two different lace ribbons and threaded a thin gold and black ribbon through the holes in the top lace layer.
