RI Sketch Challenge - Happy Birthday

Hi there!  It's time for another sketch challenge over at The House That Stamps Built!  I turned the sketch sideways for my card and used several of my favorite underwater images from Repeat Impressions - Under the Sea (2423-L), Seahorse (4102-D) and Sea Turtle (sm) (4105-E).  The underwater scene was colored using Copic markers and highlighted with a clear Spica glitter pen.  The patterned papers are from BoBunny's Barefoot & Bliss collection.

Please be sure to stop over at The House That Stamps Built to see the sketch and to get the rules for the challenge - you could win a $25 certificate to Repeat Impressions for playing along!  And while you're there, be sure to check out the great cards that the rest of the team created using the sketch!

SOTW - Headin' Home

This week's Stamp of the Week over at Repeat Impressions is called Headin' Home (2901-O).  This image brings back very fond memories of summers at the beach!  I colored it using Copic markers and paired it up with the Happy Summer (9003-E) sentiment from the new summer stamp series. The papers are from Jillibean Soup's Watermelon Gazpacho 6x6 paper pad.

Please head on over to The House That Stamps Built to check out the details for getting this stamp for 50% off this week and to see the cards the rest of the design team has made with it!

Outlines - Christmas in July!

This week's challenge over at Outlines is Christmas in July.  My card is pretty Clean and Simple - I stamped just the snowman from the Christmas Layering Collage (K-704) and colored it and the sky with Copic markers. I added some Polar White Flower Soft to the ground and the snowman's body and used the Viva Holo Iridescent Glitter Liner pen for the snowflakes.  I stamped my sentiment directly on the patterned paper using Versamark and then heat embossed using dark blue embossing powder.  The felt scroll behind the image is from Queen & Co.

Please be sure to look up the details for playing along with this week's challenge over at the Outlines blog and also check out the great cards the rest of the team has made:

RI DCC Challenge - Glitter!

We have a new Designer's Choice Challenge over at Repeat Impressions' blog, The House That Stamps Built.  This week's challenge is glitter.  I used this fun Fireworks (9014-M) image and paired with the Aglow with Good Times (9006-E) sentiment.

Wendy has recently started selling Copic Spica glitter pens at stamp shows, and will soon at them to the online store, so I used a clear Spica pen for my glitter.  After stamping the fireworks and sentiment, I went over all the stamped lines with a clear Spica pen (which, unfortunately, doesn't show up well in the photo, but if you click on it, you can see it better in the larger version).  They really add a great little sparkle to your projects!  I backed the images with Cosmo Cricket's Salt Air collection patterned papers.

Please make your way over to The House That Stamps Built to review the rules for playing along and to peek at the great, glittery cards the rest of the team has made!

(D-1076).  The cake image from the collage was colored with Copic markers and I added Viva Glass Effect Gel to the icing and cherries.  My patterned papers are from Melissa Francis' Kitchen Kitschy collection.

Repeat Impressions' Summer Stamps Blog Hop!

We are having a Repeat Impressions Blog Hop to celebrate the fun new summer stamps that Wendy has released!  I used this cute little clothesline image (9017-M Summer Clothesline) and paired it with the Happy Summer (9003-E Happy Summer) sentiment.  Both images were cut out using Spellbinders' Labels Fourteen dies because they resembled the hourglass shape of the bathing suits in the background paper!

The clothes on the clothesline are all paper pieced using some fun patterns from Jillibean Soup's Watermelon Gazpacho and BasicGrey's Sweet Threads 6x6 paper pads.  The stripes on the towel on the right were colored with a pink Spica pen and the centers of the flowers were colored using a yellow Spica pen.  I added a flower button from Crate Paper to my bow using some pink and green twine.

The rules for the hop are quite simple - visit each design team member's blog (links provided below) and collect a word from each of us.  Of course, while you're visiting, feel free to leave a comment to show the design team a little love!  My word is Impressions

After you collect all the words, you need to email Wendy(wendy@repeatimpressions.com) with all the words to be eligible for the blog candy. And if you can use all the words to create the correct phrase, you will have earned two chances for the blog candy! You must complete the hop and email all the words and/or the phrase to Wendy no later than 8pm EST on Tuesday, 7/19. The blog candy for this hop... an unmounted sheet of the new Summer stamps, of course!   The winner will be announced next Wednesday, 7/20, over at The House That Stamps Built.

We are starting a new sketch challenge over at The House That Stamps Built this week! I used two of Repeat Impressions' new Summer series stamps for my card - 9010-H Watermelon and 9015-D One in a Melon.  These images were perfect for my new Jillibean Soup Watermelon Gazpacho paper!  The image was colored using Copic markers and then sponged using So Saffron ink.

Please hop on over to The House That Stamps Built to check out the details for playing along in our sketch challenge for a chance to win a $25 gift certificate at Repeat Impressions!  While you're there, please be sure to enjoy the wonderful cards that the rest of the team has made using this fun sketch!

RI SOTW - Hammock

We are celebrating a new Stamp of the Week over at Repeat Impressions today! This week's stamp is this great hammock image (2913-I Hammock).  I wanted to make a card to celebrate my hubby's retirement - this image was perfect!  It was colored using Copic markers and the sky and grass were airbrushed.  The palm tree paper is from Creative Imaginations.  I finished it off with some twine and a wood button.

Please make your way over to The House That Stamps Built for the details on getting this fun image for 50% off this week and to check out the terrific cards the rest of the design team has made with it!

Outlines - Polka Dots!

This week's challenge over on the Outlines blog is Polka Dots - incorporate polka dots somewhere in your project.  I think I have the polka dot thing covered!  I used a variety of polka dot papers from Cosmo Cricket's Garden Variety, Early Bird and Social Club 6x6 pads, as well as Jillibean Soup's Watermelon Gazpacho 6x6 pad.  The layers were created by using different border dies and punches to cut the edges, which were then layered to make my card front.  The mat layer for my focal image (E-522 Flower Square Lg)  is also polka dots, as is the scrap of paper I used to make the tag for the sentiment (AA-839 Tiny Happy Birthday).  I used Sunny Yellow and Copper Pearl Pens for the flower centers and dots in the border of the focal image.

RI DCC Challenge - Christmas in July!

We have a new Designer's Choice Challenge going on over at The House That Stamps Built starting today. The new challenge is from Maki and it's Christmas in July! Boy is it hard for me to think Christmas when it's almost 100 degrees outside! And not November...BUT, I did it and have a card using these cute little penguins (8811-K, Joy Penguins)!  I stamped the penguins using Versafine Onyx Black and colored their beaks, feet and stars using Copic Spica glitter pens.  The green and gold holly paper is from The Paper Studio.  For my ribbon/bow, I cut a scalloped circle out of burgundy felt and attached it and the gold painted chipboard button to my bow using some twine.

Please be sure to head over to The House That Stamps Built to take a look at the great cards the rest of the design team has made and to find out the rules for playing along in the challenge for a chance to win a sheet of stamps from Repeat Impressions!

Birthday Flopsey

I made this birthday card for a friend who loves rabbits and thought I'd take the opportunity to play in a couple of challenges!  I used Flopsey's Flowers, which I stamped on kraft paper and colored using watercolor pencils.  The sentiment tag is from the Notched Tags set and the big daisy was made using the Rolled Daisy die and then mounted on a Leafy Flourish die cut.  The smaller flowers have Swarovski Crystals in the center and the large daisy has a glittered brad for its center.  All of the stamps and dies are from My Favorite Things and the patterned paper is from The Paper Studio.

I am entering this in July's Sketch for you to Try and My Favorite Things Guest Designer contest, which is to include Touches of Texture.  The rolled daisy, leafy flourish, glittered brad and Swarovski Crystals are the items I included for texture!

Outlines - Red Hot!

Happy 4th of July!   This week's challenge over on the Outlines blog is Red Hot - make red a prominent color in your project!  Mission accomplished!  I used Sparkle Love (H-911) and colored it using Copic markers.  The patterned papers are from SEI's Corinne 6x6 paper pad.  I used Glossy Accents and Picksey Pickups to add a bunch of Swarovski Crystals to my image - Aquamarine (SS12 and SS7), Light Siam (SS12 and SS7) and Clear (SS16).  I also used a few Spica markers to give the hearts and lines some sparkle.  The corner punch and seam binding are both from Martha Stewart Crafts.

We are also starting a new six month design team term over at Outlines, and with that change we say goodbye to Bev Gerard and Vicki Garrett  :-(  and hello to Sue Kment and Kecia Waters  :-) .  Please be sure to check out the details for playing along with this week's challenge over at the Outlines blog and also check out the great cards the rest of the team has made:
