Stitched Thanks

Today I have a thank you card that I made recently using images from Papertrey Ink's Stitches and Swirls set.  The image was colored and airbrushed using Copic markers. The sentiment is from the Mega Mixed Messages set.

The patterned papers are from Memory Box and the corner punch is Victorian Lace from EK Success.  For the inside I used some scraps from the patterned papers and stamped another of the stitched flower images in grey ink.

RI DCC Challenge - Snowflakes

We are starting a new Designer's Choice Challenge over at The House That Stamps Built today and this time the challenge is to use snowflakes in your creation.  I have snowflakes on my patterned papers, there is a snowflake in my sentiment and my image is a snowman, so I think I have it covered! 

I have used 3813-M, Snowcat and Friends for my main image.  I used Copic markers to color the birds, birdhouse and cap and filled the snowman in using Viva Holo Iridescent Glitter liner.  The snow on the ground is Polar White Flower Soft.  The sentiment is 2006-H, Let It Snow and the patterned papers are from Memory Box's Yuletide collection and LilyBee Designs' Jingle collection.


I based my layout on this week's Sweet Sunday sketch (#144) and it also fits this week's Technique Lover's Challenge (TLC352) over at Splitcoast Stampers, which is 'Let's make it snow'!

RI Sketch Challenge - Thinking of You

RI Sketch Challenge - Violets

It's time for another Repeat Impressions sketch challenge for you this week!  For my card, I used the Wild Violets (1706-I) image and paired it with some Memory Box Enchanted patterned papers.  I colored the violets with Copic markers and used a Lilac Pearl Paint Pen to create the dots around the border of the focal image.

RI Sketch Challenge

Happy Wednesday - hope your week is going better than mine. I have had a sore throat since Sunday and think I am coming down with a cold ;-( I've got way too much going on this week to be sick. On a happier note, it's time for a Repeat Impresssions sketch challenge!

For my card, I used two of the snowflake images from the Snow Globes and Ornaments set. I stamped them with Versamark and heat embossed with white embossing powder, then stacked the smaller one on top of the larger one and secured it with that beautiful K & Company brad.  I added Stickles to the endpoints of both snowflakes.

My papers are from Memory Box's Misteltoe collection and the ribbon is some beautiful May Arts silk ribbon I picked up this weekend.  If you would like to play along with our sketch challenge, just make a project using the sketch to the right and upload it to today's post over at The House That Stamps Built.  You could win a $25 gift certificate at Repeat Impressions!

What If Wednesday Sketch Challenge - J2810

It's time for another sketch challenge over at The House That Stamps Built.  I decided to pair the sketch with this week's Stamp of the Week (Damselfly #4401) for a thank you note I need to send to someone who loves dragonflies and butterflies.  I stamped the damselfly using Aqua Mist ink on a sheet of light colored patterned paper.  I cut around the wings before I cut out the image using a Nestabilities curved rectangles die.  I learned how to do this technique from my friend Julie - you can read her instructions in this post on her blog. 

I adhered almost an entire strip of Memory Box pearls for the body and eyes - that was painful for this tightwad hoarder of embellishments!  I used two different border punches for the two mat layers and adhered the main panel using foam tape.

I painted the wings with some Twinkling H20s to make them shimmer as you can see in the close up.  All of the patterned papers are from Kaisercraft's Gypsy Sisters Collection and my card base is Bermuda Bay card stock from Stampin' UP!.

For the inside, I stamped my image again with the Aqua Mist ink and layered that on another sheet of the patterned paper.  I used an EK Success border punch for the bottom of the patterned paper panel.

RI SOTW - Lupine

Happy Monday (that's an oxymoron, isn't it??)!  It's time for another Stamp of the Week from Repeat Impressions.  This week's stamp is Lupine (1711) and it's available at 50% off through July 4th.  All you have to do is head over to The House that Stamps Built to get the details on how to take advantage of this special!

For my card, I searched my stash of patterned papers and found this K&Company Juliana Muscari paper that worked perfectly with the Lupine image.  The other patterned papers are from Memory Box's Gossamer collection and the purple card stock mat layers are Coredinations Nostalgia line.  My image was colored with Copic markers and the background was airbrushed.  My sentiment is from the Quartet Complements series, also from Repeat Impressions.  I added some Rock Candy Stickles to the flowers and used a clear Spica glitter pen on the leaves and sentiment.  My layout is based on this week's sketch over at Taylored Expressions.

Belli Challenge #83 - Hearts

It's time for another Belli Challenge! This week's challenge is to use hearts. Please be sure to head over to the Belli blog to check out what the other designers have done and to see who our new design team members are! This week we also have a guest designer and I think it's apropos that she is the guest for our hearts challenge - not only is she a talented card maker, she is also the recipient of a heart transplant!

For my card, I started with a base of Bazzill textured white card stock and some scraps of BasicGrey's Eskimo Kisses Woodland paper. I cut the hearts out of the patterned paper using a paper punch, alternating the direction of it as I punched so my hearts would lean in different directions since the punch is not symmetrical. I used the leftover strip of paper on the inside, along with a couple of extra hearts.

I scored a few lines above the script stamp, which is from the Glitz Clear Distress set, and one line below it. The sentiments on the front and inside are from Memory Box.

This is a quick and simple card and a great way to use up those scraps. Plus it's a fun way to use your leftover Christmas paper for Valentine's Day!

Happy Monday! Here's a quick birthday card I made recently using a couple of Memory Box stamps. The image was colored using Koh-I-Noor colored pencils and then blended with Gamsol. The patterned paper is Bo Bunny Harvest Table. The card stock and ribbon are from Stampin' UP! The tag for the sentiment was made using a Fancy Tags die from Spellbinders.

OK, on to today's card! I recently needed a get well card for a good friend who had surgery and loves lavender. This Lockhart Stamp Company image fit the bill perfectly! Once I had selected the image, I decided to use this sketch from the Clean & Simple blog as my starting point. The patterned paper is from the Memory Box Biscotti collection and the card stock is from the Prism Majestic Purple Pack. I stamped the image on Rustic White card stock and colored it with Copic markers. I used a larger square Nestabilities die to draw the outline with a Lavender Copic Spica pen. The Feel Better sentiment is from Papertrey Ink's Mixed Messages set and was stamped using Adirondack Eggplant ink. That's about it for this clean and simple card!

Fly

I have spent much of this week recovering from last weekend's hard drive crash, so I'm a little behind in some of my posting here.

I made this card for the Color Throwdown (the colors were Stampin' UP!'s Bordering Blue, Elegant Eggplant and Barely Banana) from last Wednesday, but didn't get it posted in time to participate. I also used the sketch from last Friday's Cupcake Challenge (TECC70), and now that they run through Friday, I'm just squeaking this in on time for that!

The sentiment stamp, the 'fly' stamp and the butterfly corner flourish are from The Angel Company and the butterfly trail is from Hero Arts. The butterflies were punched using two different Martha Stewart punches and gemstones were added to each for their bodies. The ribbon is from Martha Stewart, too. The patterned papers are from the Memory Box Poppyfinch collection and the card stocks are the three Stampin' UP! colors from the color throwdown challenge.

Hope your week is going better than mine! I did have the opportunity to go see the Jersey Boys show this week and it was terrific. If you have the chance to see it, I highly recommend it.
