Belli Challenge #102 - Pumpkins and Sketch!

Welcome to a new Belli Challenge!  This week's challenge is to make a card with pumpkins.  We also have an optional sketch for you to use if you would like:

For my card, I chose this adorable pumpkin kitty from There She Goes' Cattitude set.  I love the expression on this kitty's face!  I paper pieced the pumpkin body and colored the rest with Copic markers.  I created the bow around her neck using black twine, popped her up on foam squares and adhered her to a panel that was stamped using one of the images from Gina K. Designs Lovely Labels 2 set.  The sentiment is from There She Goes' Hauntingly Delightful set.

The main background paper is from Cosmo Cricket's Matilda collection and the diagonal and horizontal strips are from Reminisce (Esmerelda Stripe, Midnight Stripe and Jack Stripe).  The sentiment panel is anchored with a glittery pumpkin brad from Making Memories and a button that I tied using a small piece of raffia.  I think that covers it!

Head on over to the Creative Belli blog to find out more about the challenge and to see the wonderful pumpkin creations the rest of the team has created!  Enjoy the rest of your week!

Belli Challenge #94 - Sketch and Patriotic

Welcome to another Belli Challenge!  This week's challenge is a double challenge - a sketch plus you must use a patriotic element.  The timing of this challenge was perfect as I was able to use this week's Stamp of the Week from Repeat Impressions - Land of the Free (#3074-I).  The patterned papers are from Stampin' Up and I used the coordinating markers to color my image.  The image panel was outlined with a gold leaf pen.  The buttons are from PTI, as is the sentiment, and I added two star-shaped rhinestones to the red buttons.  Please check out Monday's post over at the House That Stamps Built to find out how you can get the Land of the Free stamp at half price.

I completely messed up when I made my first card for this challenge, because I forgot the patriotic element.  I started out using a new stamp set from There She Goes - Butterfly Happiness.  The background paper is from DCWV's Mariposa collection and I stamped my sentiment directly on the patterned paper and embossed with Fine Detail Gold Embossing Powder.  I stamped the small butterfly three times on black inchie squares and embossed them with the gold powder too.  They were outlined with a gold leaf pen.  I added a layer of crocheted lace and two layers of PTI's satin Spring Moss ribbon.  The ribbon qualifies it for the challenge to use a ribbon border over at Really Reasonable Ribbon.

Please be sure to check out what the rest of the Belli girls have done using the sketch and a patriotic element. We would love for you to play along with us, using this sketch and a patriotic element.  If you do choose to play along, enter your project over on today's Belli Challenge post, using Mr. Linky.

Thanks for stopping by! Enjoy the rest of your week!

Garden of Friends Challenges

Happy Tuesday!  I found some time this weekend to make a few cards for some challenges.  This card is for the Curtain Call Color Challenge and the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge.  I used my new Garden of Friends set from There She Goes and some K and Company  Blue Awning papers and embellishments that I have had for ages.

I stamped the pitcher of flowers and colored them with Copic markers, then I stamped the pitcher portion on some of the patterned paper, cut it out and pieced it on my main image.  I added a few crystals to the flower centers and popped the image up on some foam tape.

For the inside of my card, I used a Martha Stewart Floral Vine border punch and a scrap of some of the patterned paper from the front.  I've left it blank for now, but will stamp a sentiment when I have an occasion to use this card.

Hope your week is going well so far.  I get to go to the dentist today....joy!  Be sure to check back tomorrow for a new Belli Challenge!
