RI DCC Challenge - Animals

We have a new Designer's Choice Challenge starting up over at The House That Stamps Built today and yours truly is your hostess!  The theme for this challenge is animals, one of my favorite subjects!  For my sample card, I have used Mister Goof (6205-M), one of  Repeat Impressions' great cat images, and I have colored it using my cat Saba for my inspiration.  The layout is from this week's sketch over at The Paper Players blog (PP65).

Here is a picture of her sitting on her very own coffee table book!  The sentiment I paired the image up with is from the Quartet Complements series and fits her perfectly - she is special!  Finally, I added a little black kitty button to my bow.

Please stop by The House That Stamps Built to check out the details for playing along with us for your chance to win some stamps from Repeat Impressions and to see the wonderful cards the rest of the team has made!

Outlines - Pick a Flower

It's Monday and that means it's time for another challenge over at Outlines!  This week's challenge is Pick a Flower - pick a flower(s), any flower, and feature it.  I have chosen to feature the Round Posy flowers (E-1039 Round Posy Med. and D-1040 Round Posy Sm.), which I stamped, cut out and colored using Copic markers.  Each layer is popped up on foam tape.

I also used Solid Flower Swatch (H-688), which was stamped with Adirondack Rust ink directly on the Cosmo Cricket Social Club patterned paper.  I added Bye Bye Dragonfly (D-1186), which was stamped once on card stock and once on vellum and then colored.  The body portion of the vellum layer is glued to the card stock layer and its wings are bent up.  I used Posy Greeting Center (F-1049) for the sentiment.

The color scheme I used is from this week's challenge over at The Play Date Cafe (PDCC100).

Please be sure to look up the details for playing along in this week's challenge over at the Outlines blog and also check out the great cards the rest of the team has made:

RI SOTW - Swan

We have a new Stamp of the Week over at The House That Stamps Built!  This week's half-off special is on this pretty Swan (4319-H) image.  I decided to create a little pond for the swan, so I started out by stamping it on a piece of patterned paper from Webster's Pages WonderFall collection.  I masked the swan and added Calm Water (4522-G) and Grass (3413-C) and then I colored the scene using Copic markers.  For the sentiment, I used Find Beauty (8614-D) from Quartet Complements.

Make your way over to The House That Stamps Built to get the details for picking up this beautiful Swan for 50% off and to see the beautiful cards the rest of the team has made showcasing it.

Outlines - Loving Lots of Layers

It's time for a new challenge over at the Outlines blog and this week's challenge is Loving Lots of Layers - Outlines has so many images that are great for layering!  For my card, I used Flower Square Large (E-522) which I stamped twice and colored using Copic markers.  I cut the center section out of one and layered it on top of the second using foam tape.  I then layered that on three separate mat layers that were all cut using Spellbinders Nestabilities dies.

For my sentiment I used Tiny Happy Birthday (AA-839) which was cut out and layered using a set of Spellbinders Blossom Tags and Accents Shapeabilities dies.  The patterned papers I used are all from Jillibean Soup (Homemade 6 Bean Soup, Apple Cheddar Soup and Watermelon Gazpacho).  I also used a bunch of Swarovski Crystals on my stamped image (Olivine SS7 and SS12, Clear SS16, Light Colorado Topaz SS12 and Sun SS7 and SS12).

RI DCC Challenge - One Layer Card

We are starting a new Designer's Choice Challenge over at The House That Stamps Built and this time the challenge is to make a one layer card.  Well that's a challenge alright, at least it is for me!  One that I suppose I technically failed since I have layered my patterned paper onto some card stock to give it some stability.  I hope the challenge police don't come after me!

I used Webster's Pages Lullaby Lane patterned paper for my 'one layer' and stamped  Toy Train (628-I), which I colored using Copic markers.  I added some teeny tiny buttons for the train's wheels and wrapped the blue velvet Webster's Pages ribbon around the bottom because it reminded me of railroad tracks!  The sentiment is It's a Boy (1816-E) and it was stamped directly on the patterned paper using Adirondack Stream ink.

Please stop over at The House That Stamps Built to check out the cards the rest of the design team has made for this challenging challenge and to read the rules for how you can play along!

Outlines - Feeling Like Fall

Good Monday morning!  Hope you had a nice weekend! We are starting a new challenge over at the Outlines blog this week and the theme is Feeling Like Fall.  I used the pumpkin section from Split Layering Collage - Autumn (I-793 which is currently 20% off!) and colored it using Sweet Melon Smooch and Spica glitter pens - it has a nice sparkle in real life!  I created the border on my mat layer by adding strips of ScorPal tape along each edge and then adding Ultra Fine Citrus Crush Flower Soft.  For the sentiment I used Tiny Have a Great Day (AA-863), which I stamped using Memories Autumn Rainbow ink.

The patterned papers are from BoBunny's Forever Fall collection and are the same as those for this week's Crazy 4 Challenges C4C104 color challenge (orange, yellow, olive green and brown).  My layout comes from the current sketch challenge over at The House That Stamps Built

Today brings us a new sketch challenge over at The House That Stamps Built. For my card, I used one of my all time favorite Repeat Impressions images, Under the Sea (2423-L), and colored it using Copic markers.  I added some glitter to the sea grass and bubbles using Spica markers and I stamped the Life's A Beach (2407-G) sentiment directly on the palm tree patterned paper.

Here is the inside of the card - don't forget to decorate the inside of your card to go with the card front!

RI SOTW - Footbridge

We have a new Stamp of the Week over at Repeat Impressions - this week's special is on Footbridge (2917-K) and it's available at half price this week only!  It's a great scenic stamp that fits in really well with many of the other Scenic stamps at Repeat Impressions

For my card, I have paired it up with Shade of the Elm (2908-I), Calm Water (4522-G) and Grass (3413-C).  All of the images were stamped directly on the Webster's Pages patterned paper and colored using Copic markers.  I added some Spring Flower Soft to the elm tree for its foliage (you can click on the picture to see it larger).  The Live for...(3103-F) sentiment, which seemed like a perfect match for my peaceful little scene, was stamped on a cloud die cut using Old Olive ink.  My card fits this week's Our Creative Corner challenge, which is to stamp directly on patterned paper.

Please be sure to head over to The House That Stamps Built to get the details for picking up this great Footbridge image for 50% off.  While you're there, make sure you take a look at the cards the rest of the team made using the Footbridge image!

Outlines - Picture This

This week's challenge over at the Outlines blog is Picture This - incorporate a photo in your project.  This is the closest I've gotten to making something resembling a scrapbook page in a long time!  This is a photo of our sweet kitty, Statia, who we unexpectedly had to put to sleep last month at the young age of seven.  For those of you who are keeping count, yes, that makes two kitties we've lost since January :-(

I decided to take advantage of this fun challenge and make a little memorial to her, so I used just the kitty image from the Split Layering Collage - Meow (H-937) and colored it grey like she was.  I stamped the Tiny Thinking of You (AA-858) sentiment on vellum and cut it out using a Spellbinder's tag die.  I added Emerald Swarovski Crystals to the flower center and one end of the sentiment tag and added a resin kitty charm to the other end.  The patterned paper is from KI Memories.  The layout for my project is from this week's JUGS 100 sketch challenge.

Please be sure to look up the details for playing along with this week's challenge over at the Outlines blog and also check out the great cards the rest of the team has made:
