Happy Birthday (C4C137)

Hello!  I have a fun birthday card today that is a first for me - it's a one layer card!  My card base is White Shimmer paper from Papertrey Ink.  I started out by stamping the large butterfly from Earth Arts Stamps using gray ink.  The sentiment is heat embossed using blue glitter powder from Powder Keg.  The butterflies were all made using Martha Stewart punches. I adhered coordinating Swarovski crystals to the body of each punched butterfly.  The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink.

My card fits for this week's challenge over at Crazy 4 Challenges (C4C137) - anything goes as long as it's a birthday card.  I copied the idea for this card from Barbara Anders' sample for a recent Color Throwdown challenge.

For the inside I stamped the butterfly again and then stamped the sentiment (also from Papertrey Ink) on top.

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Day

Today I have a card I made for this week's sketch challenge over at My Favorite Things (MFTWSC71). I used Pure Innocence Purrfect for the focal image, which I paper pieced and colored using Copic markers.  The tag, sentiment and heart are from the Notched Tag Die & Stamp set.  The patterned papers are from My Mind's Eye's Lost and Found Blush collection.

For the inside, I cut a strip of the patterned paper using a Martha Stewart punch and added a sentiment.

This beautiful Strawberry Planter Box image is from Northwoods Rubber Stamp Company and it was colored and airbrushed using Copic markers.  The patterned papers are from Jillibean Soup's Coconut Lime Soup and Echo Park's For the Record collections.  The border punch is from Martha Stewart.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you have a terrific day!

Just a Note

Hello!  Today I have a card for this week's sketch challenge over at My Favorite Things (MFTWSC70).  My card is also for this week's color challenge at Pals Paper Arts (PPA134 - So Saffron, Calypso Coral and Blue Bayou).

The image was paper pieced and colored and airbrushed using Copic markers.  The patterned papers are from Pink Paislee's Nantucket collection and the stamps are from My Favorite Things (Making a List and More Essential Sentiments).  The flourish, buttons and leaves on the inside were all made using My Favorite things dies (Fancy Flourish, Button Quartet and Prima Donna Petals).

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great week!

My Nonexistent Stamping Life

This card is a perfect example of how sad my stamping life has become - I started it 10 days ago and just finished it this morning.  Work has been incredibly busy and we have had other obligations over the weekends lately so I just haven't had any time.

I intended to enter it in three different challenges, all of which have now closed - CTD188 (color challenge), PPA133 (sketch) and C4C133 (make it pop with black card stock).  Oh well, I will still be able to use it for its primary purpose, which is a thank you note to a good friend.

It qualifies for this week's challenge over at Crazy 4 Challenges(C4C134), which calls for paper piecing.  My owl is paper pieced and its wings are popped up on foam squares.

The stamps I used are from There She Goes You're a Hoot set and Impression Obsession Owl Be Thankful set (sentiment).  The patterned papers are from BasicGrey's Green at Heart collection.
