Greetings! We have a new sketch challenge starting today over at The House That Stamps Built. I flipped the sketch upside down because I wanted to make sure the fish in my patterned paper were visible since my mat colors are based on them! I colored the four images with Copic markers and then sponged the edges with Broken China Distress Ink while they were still in the die. The sentiment was stamped using Versamark and Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink and embossed using clear embossing powder.
Here are the Repeat Impressions stamps used:
2412-E, Small Tropical Fish
4102-D, Sea Horse (sm)
4105-E, Sea Turtle (sm)
2418-E, Scallop Shell
8606-E, Happy Birthday
Please head over to The House That Stamps Built for the sketch and to see the rules for participating in the challenge (there's a $25 gift certificate for the Repeat Impressions store up for grabs!). While you're there, be sure to check out the samples from the rest of our wonderful design team!
My card fits the theme for the current challenge over at Jay Gee's Nook - check out the fabulous inspiration photo for Challenge 9 - it's right up my alley!

SOTW Lily of the Valley
We are focusing on another Stamp of the Week over at Repeat Impressions today. This week's stamp is this beautiful Lily of the Valley (4308-J) image. It's such a simple, pretty little flower, and I have loved them since I was a kid. The image was colored using Copic markers and I dabbed a little Copic Opaque White on the flowers to make them stand out. The background was airbrushed. The patterned paper is from Webster's Pages, as are the peach rose bloomer in the center of the bow and the peach lace trim.
Please be sure to head over to The House That Stamps Built to find out how you can order this beautiful image for 50% off this week and to see the lovely cards that the rest of the design team has made using it!

This and that!
Happy Friday!
I have been in a rut of only posting cards that I have made for design team commitments, so this morning I have a couple of cards that I made recently for personal reasons!
This first card was made for my niece's high school graduation. I wanted to use her school colors so I pulled a couple of sheets with the two shades of blue from Jillibean Soup's Spotted Owl Soup and October Afternoon's Seaside.
The background journaling note paper is from Making Memories' Noteworthy line and the stamps are from Cornish Heritage Farms' U R A Hoot set.
The owl was colored using Copic markers. The sentiment and 'Graduate' on the cap were both heat embossed.
The second card is a thank you card I made for a recent gift from my mom, who has collected strawberry themed things for as long as I can remember.
The paper is from Papertrey Ink's Fruitti Tutti pad and the stamps are from the Fruit Fusion - Berry set. I added some Salmon Viva Decor Pearl Pen dots around the scalloped mat and a little faux stitching around both stamped panels using a pink Spica marker.
On the sentiment panel I added a strawberry button I had in my stash for just such an occasion!
Thanks for stopping by!
Have a wonderful weekend!

RI DCC Challenge - Watercoloring
We are starting a new Designer's Choice Challenge over on Repeat Impressions' blog, The House That Stamps Built. The new challenge is watercoloring. I used some Derwent Inktense watersoluble pencils to color the tulips (Vase of Tulips1317-L). The vase was paper pieced using BasicGrey's Hello Luscious papers. The Thinking of You sentiment is from Quartet Complements.
Please stop by The House That Stamps Built to get the details for the challenge and to see the great cards the rest of the team has created!

Outlines - Keep it Krafty!
Good Monday morning! It's time for a new Outlines challenge and this week's challenge is Keep it Krafty - use kraft card stock as the main ingredient for your project. I think I did that! I used Jillibean Soup White and Black Macaroni patterned paper and stamped Small and Medium Round Posy images on them, along with Clematis Leaf. I cut all of the images out and mounted them on foam tape.
I used Salmon and Copper Viva Pearl Pens to fill in the outer edges and center of the posies. I also used Script Love You for the sentiment, which was matted on black card stock and adhered to my card base using Kaisercraft brads. The background panel was embossed using a Cuttlebug embossing folder.
My card fits for this week's challenge over at Crazy 4 Challenges (C4C92), which is to use twine, floss, string, etc.
Please be sure to head over to the Outlines blog to get the details for participating in the challenge - you could win a $25 shopping spree in the Outlines Store!! Also make sure you head over to each design team member's blog to check out their creations!

RI Sketch Challenge - Find Beauty
We are starting a new sketch challenge today over at Repeat Impressions! This is a really versatile sketch! For my card, I used Divi Divi Tree (2409M) and the Find beauty (8614D) sentiment. I colored the tree with Copic markers and added some Flower Soft for the leaves. I also used my Victoria embossing folder on my green card base to give a little texture to the top part of the card.
Please be sure to stop over at The House That Stamps Built for the sketch and challenge rules and while you're there, check out the wonderful cards the rest of the design team has made!

RI SOTW - Fairy Kiss
Today we are showcasing a new Stamp of the Week at Repeat Impressions - Fairy Kiss (4305-I)! As soon as I saw this paper from Graphic 45, I knew I had to pair it with this image. I colored the fairies with Copic markers to match the paper. The flower embellishment was made by layering some ruffled netting ribbon on a Cosmo Cricket Gluber (a 2" round glue dot, basically) and then adding a Maya Road jeweled flower in the center. The Love much (3110-F) sentiment was stamped directly on the patterned paper using Versafine Vintage Sepia.
Please be sure to make your way over to The House That Stamps built to get the details on buying this whimsical image for 50% off this week only! While you're there, be sure to check out the cards the rest of the design team has made using Fairy Kiss!

Outlines - Ribbons and Bows!
Good Monday morning! It's time for another Outlines challenge and this week the challenge is right up my alley - Ribbons and Bows! I hardly ever make a card without ribbon or a bow! Aside from the obvious green satin ribbon and bow, I used some yellow grosgrain ribbon to create the mat layer for my focal image, Candles Square Lg. (E401), which was colored using Copic and Spica markers. I also added a bow to my button, using some green and white twine. The sentiment is Happy Birthday Script (C-1050) The patterned papers are from Jillibean Soup's Spotted Owl Soup 6x6 pad, which perfectly fit with this week's Color Throwdown #145 challenge (Baja Breeze, So Saffron and Pear Pizzazz).
Please be sure to head over to the Outlines blog to get the details for participating in the challenge - you could win a $25 shopping spree in the Outlines Store!! Also make sure you head over to each design team member's blog to check out their creations!

RI DCC Challenge - Father's Day with Texture
Today marks the start of a new Designer's Choice Challenge at Repeat Impressions! This week's challenge is to make a Father's Day card with texture (could be flower soft, could be glitter – anything that adds a little texture). I used this week's Stamp of the Week, His Words (4134-K), which I paired up with Bottoms Up (2906-I) for the bottom (!) horizontal strip. The patterned paper is from Cosmo Cricket's Gretel collection. My layout is based on the design for the current sketch challenge over at The House That Stamps Built - it's still open if you would like to play along!
I have to confess that I got lucky with this card. I had just noted that the challenge was to make a Father's Day card - completely missed the texture part....Luckily, I had decided to pull out my houndstooth embossing folder for the panel on the right side of the card - just because I always forget to use my embossing folders! I used my brayer to add some Versafine Vintage Sepia ink to the raised portions the houndstooth pattern so it would stand out a bit more.
Please make your way over to The House That Stamps Built to see the rest of the great Father's Day cards the team has made and to get the details for playing along!

Outlines - Color Challenge
Welcome to another Outlines weekly challenge! This week's challenge is a color challenge - aqua, brown and white. I decided to go clean and simple for this challenge. I used a single image - Wishing You (E-575) - and paired it with some papers from Kaisercraft's Secret Bird Society collection. I added some light green Viva Decor Pearl Pen dots in the flower centers on the frame and on the sheer ribbon. I also included some Light Colorado Topaz Swarovski crystals to the corners of the sentiment frame.
Please be sure to head over to the Outlines blog to get the details for participating in the challenge - you could win a $25 shopping spree in the Outlines Store!! Also make sure you head over to each design team member's blog to check out their creations!
