Repeat Impressions! This week's challenge is to make a Father's Day card with texture (could be flower soft, could be glitter – anything that adds a little texture). I used this week's Stamp of the Week, His Words (4134-K), which I paired up with Bottoms Up (2906-I) for the bottom (!) horizontal strip. The patterned paper is from Cosmo Cricket's Gretel collection. My layout is based on the design for the current sketch challenge over at The House That Stamps Built - it's still open if you would like to play along!
I have to confess that I got lucky with this card. I had just noted that the challenge was to make a Father's Day card - completely missed the texture part....Luckily, I had decided to pull out my houndstooth embossing folder for the panel on the right side of the card - just because I always forget to use my embossing folders! I used my brayer to add some Versafine Vintage Sepia ink to the raised portions the houndstooth pattern so it would stand out a bit more.
Please make your way over to The House That Stamps Built to see the rest of the great Father's Day cards the team has made and to get the details for playing along!
Thanks for stopping by!
