This card was made using the reverse side of the paper I used for the Mercat card from my last post. I find it interesting when the reverse sides are so different from one another. This one is also for Scrap Chic Boutique and incorporates several things I was given to to use - the brown flower, the big rhinetone brad and the pretty butterfly wings. The rest of the elements are just some things from my stash. It doesn't show up too well in the photo, but the ribbon has little white butterflies on it.
Initially I wasn't too crazy about this card, but I showed it to a friend the other day and she thought it was 'stunning', so it just goes to show - different strokes for different folks!
Thanks for looking!

Have a Purrfectly Wonderful Day!
This is a card for my Scrap Chic design team duties. The item I was asked to use is the background paper, which reminded me of a tropical ocean. I had yet to use this cute little mercat stamp I picked up at the last Heirloom Pro stamp show here in Atlanta, so this seemed like a good time to put it to work.
There's nothing fancy about this card - I added a few fishies to the background paper to make it really look like water. The mercat image was colored with Copic markers and cut out using my Spellbinders Nestabilities. A few little Dew Drops were added to resemble bubbles.
Sorry it's been a while since I've posted - I've been out of town a bit lately for work. I've got several cards to post, so things will pick up this week! Hope you have a purrfectly wonderful day! Thanks for stopping by!
Card Details:
Paper - Black Market Paper Society - Swingin in the Hammock; Marco's Paper - Stardreams Stationery
Stamps - Mercat - Stamps on Fire; Sentiment - Whipper Snapper Designs; Fish - Inkadinkado
Ribbon - SEI
Markers - Copic
Ink - Adirondack Pitch Black
Other - The Robin's Nest - Dew Drops

A little birdie...
I love this little stamp set from Repeat Impressions. It's from the series of swing card stamps that they make, but I didn't create a swing card with it, I just created a traditional card. The image is colored with Copic markers in an attempt to match the patterned paper from SEI.
The card looks innocent enough from the front, but the fun part is on the inside.....
I think that smug little cat is so perfect with the sentiment. But, as a bird lover, as well as a cat lover, I keep my cats indoors so they and the birds are safe!

Oh Hoppy Day!!
I adore this little bunny, and I feel just like that right now! I just got some big news yesterday that had me almost jumping around like this little bunny. I recently submitted an application to be on the design team for Repeat Impressions design team, and I learned yesterday that I have been accepted! And while this guy is a little out of season, he was one of the cards I made for my submission, so that's why I'm posting it in the middle of summer.
I'm still relatively new to the stamping/card making world, especially in terms of blogging and posting my work, and I'm still a bit timid about 'putting myself out there', so it's really exciting for me to have been so successful. Since January of this year, I've applied for three design teams and been accepted to two, so I'm feeling pretty good at the moment! A little overwhelmed, but very excited about what lies ahead and all that I have to learn.
OK, enough gushing....thanks for 'listening' and stopping by!

Crush Me, Squeeze Me!
Being a wine lover, I just had to have this stamp, from DRS Designs. I had this glass wine bottle embellishment from Stampington & Company and thought it would be perfect for a card with this stamp. I backed it with some grape decoupage paper and added a miniature wine label from some designer paper, then covered the mini-label with Ranger Sepia Accents.
The tag is a regular office supply shipping tag that I stippled and distressed with several of Ranger's Distress Inks. A trio of purple Dew Drops in the corners mimics the clusters of grapes in the pattern paper. I'll have a hard time parting with this one!
Thanks for looking!
Card Details:
Pattern Paper - don't know who makes any of the ones used - sorry
Inks - Ranger Adirondack Pesto, Lettuce, Oregano (sounds like a salad...)
Stamps - DRS Designs

Pretty in Pink
The assignment for this card was to use a printed transparency from Hambly Studios. I love transparencies and have a bunch, but I have to admit, they can be a bit tricky to find just the right way to use them. So, for this card I had the pink gridlines transparency and thought these stamped flowers looked good with it. I matted the stamped images on some Marco's Paper Stardreams Stationery and adhered the transparency on top with 4 little drops of Ranger's Glossy Accents, which I covered with my dew drops.
The butterflies on the bottom were colored with the same markers as the flowers and the Happy Birthday sentiment was inked with the same pink marker.
Thanks for looking!
Card Details:
Solid Paper – Marco’s Paper – Stardreams Stationery
Transparency – Hambly Studios mini graph
Stamps –Hero Arts – butterflies; 7 Gypsies - sentiment
Markers – Inque Boutique Whispers
Other – Ranger Glossy Accents; The Robins Nest Dew Drops

A Veritable Frenzy!
Here is my second card using the Basic Grey Euphoria Frenzy paper. The flowers and scrolls in the stamp reminded me of the paper. I stamped it first in Adirondack Cranberry and then decided I wanted more of a purple scheme so I overstamped it with Adirondack Eggplant. It's mounted on some of Marco's Paper's Stardreams Stationery - I love that stuff for its little bit of shimmer.
The extra wide scalloped grosgrain ribbon provides some interesting challenges. For this card I used a rub-on sentiment, which worked pretty well with the grosgrain. I layered a second, smaller ribbon on top, accompanied by a small ribbon slide. A few little Dew Drops in the upper left corner and - boom - you're done!
Hope you're having a great Fourth of July holiday! Thanks for stopping by!

And another....
Here's another card with the new Basic Grey Euphoria paper. I just received an order of scented embossing powders from Cornish Heritage Farms and was itching to try some of it, so I decided to make a baby card.
There's not much to this card - I stamped the baby feet image with Versamark and embossed it with the Baby Powder Pink powder, then dragged the edges of the paper through the Versamark ink and embossed that too. The scalloped squares were cut with my Nestabilities. The edges of the card were sponged with Ranger Adirondack Cranberry ink.
I stamped directly on the grosgrain ribbon with my Adirondack Cranberry ink and then tried to heat set it before it bled too much, but it bled a bit anyway.
Thanks for looking!

New Basic Grey
Here is another Scrap Chic Boutique design team card. The pattern papers are from the new Basic Grey Euphoria line. I stamped the main image using white ink and then dressed it up a bit with my Pink Copic Spica Marker and some rhinestones. The ovals were all cut out with my Spellbinders Nestabilities, as was the ribbon tag.

Un-flippin' believable....
Murphy, leave me alone already....
So, the replacement light socket assembly for my light kit arrived today - and it was dented too, just like the one it's replacing. Incredible. Once again, the customer service folks at Alzo Digital couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating, and another one is on its way, but geez, this is ridiculous. So, I will just have to make do with the single light for the time being.
I'll be posting some cards either tonight or tomorrow. I have 5 that I've made in the last few days, so at least I've gotten some shop time!
